Bruce and Gloria ~ This is the second summer that we will be spending our getaway time at Lucy's Place in LaVeta, Colorado. It is a very beautiful and peaceful town to visit. For such a small town there is always something to do fishing, hiking, train rides, craft fairs, and shopping, evening walks. We enjoy just sitting in our chairs and watching all the deer wonder in and around the campground. The best place to stay is Lucy's Place!! The campground is very clean and well maintained with green grass in and around all the campsites with large trees and allot of shade.
Ben, Evelyn and Shannon are the best, their friendship is so warm and genuine they go out of their way to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible
For Memorial Day weekend they had a BBQ for all the guests at the campground the food was great and every one had a great time. Lucy's Place is pet friendly which is important to us because we have two little ones. We are looking foreword to spending our summer getaway time at Lucy's Place.
To Zeller's we are glad our paths have crossed and thanks for the friendship!!

Stephanie DelaRue ~ "Lucy's RV Park is the best RV park in La Veta! We loved the shade, the service and there was lots of green grass. The place looks so nice this year! We recommend it, and are coming back as soon as we can!
Lynn and Melinda Helms, Las Vegas Nevada ~ We are very pleased that you saved our reservations, as we have enjoyed our stay at your lovely and inviting park here at Lucy’s. More over, we are fascinated at and amazed at the two lovely ladies who work tirelessly and remain so lovely and kind. You two are truly admirable in your efforts and we are deeply thankful for all your considerations. Melinda and I feel we have found a truly lasting friendship in the whole family. May God bless all of the Zellar clan.
Steve McGrew, Tulsa, OK ~ First I have to send a special thank you to Ben and Evelyn for the warm welcome and all the hospitality you guys provided during my stay at Lucy's. I absolutely felt right at home the minute I arrived at your beautiful quaint RV Park nestled in the town of La Veto. As I descended the mountains arriving from the south on scenic highway 12 from Cithara I was initially disappointed that La Veta was not in the mountains rather it was in a valley. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised to find the quaint town of La Veta was exactly the kind of place you expect to find but always seem to come up short. It was scenic, well positioned and the pace was exactly what I needed for my brief 9-day vacation. I could not have asked for a better place. This place is well shaded and peaceful. The local stores provide all the amenities a person could ask for. What I liked best was the fact that this is not a tourist destination rather a resting place that allows a person to slow down and get well rested. It was almost like Mayberry, ops I forgot, this is I Love Lucy's place, same time, and different location. Love you guys and can't wait to return. And the ATV trails were the very best. See you all soon!
Bev and Bill Rice from Iowa ~ Dear Evelyn and Ben, Originally our intention was to stay one night at Lucy's. After we spotted several deer wondering near or thru the camp we became alert to watch for wildlife. Shortly a little black bear strolled across the street 1/2 block to the South of our camp and within a few minutes, we were surprised to see the mother bear, perhaps, lumber down from main street area and turn at the Lucy's RV corner to head South. We figured Bears were a common sight around here. Of course, my husband immediately decided we should spend a few more nights so we could explore the mountain roads in the area and watch for more wildlife.
We took day trips in every direction. We found a membership at the local Library was free; Charlie’s Country Store seemed to have everything one could need at a fair price. The Art Galleries’ and other unique stores were interesting. We stayed on for a week enjoying the 4th of July parade, Park activities, Mountain Music Bands, Scenic Passenger Train and more.
Back at Lucy's RV Park we enjoyed warm smiles with kind prompt assistance through out our stay. We checked with Evelyn and she accommodated us nicely.
Author Ben Zeller, through his books, opened our eyes to the "Ludlow Massacre" of the early 1900's and we explored that sight, south of Walsenburg, after we left LaVeta.
We highly recommend Lucy's RV Park with Warm Friendly environment, fine Shade trees and grass, clean showers, surrounded by wild life and full of adventure with something for everyone.
PS. The fine WIFi was added plus and always appreciated.

Gene ~ I have stayed at this park when it was Mary's and Mary was great, about 4 years ago. I am glad the traditions live on. My cousin is the head of the library there. I hope some day to return again and spend the summer there. It is a great place to stay. The addition of WiFi is great. Hope to return in 2011
Melinda Sumrall ~ this was our 4th yr. @ this lovely park. In the past we've spent months chillin' in this little "Eden". New owners, the Zellers worked hard to make us feel welcome. They have made some cosmetic changes that enhance the natural beauty of the park. La Veta has much to offer. Be sure to visit the Library, Charlie's, & the Main Street Diner. A senior breakfast @ The Feed Store Church every wed. is worth the nominal donation. These ladies have become like family to us. The 1 negative was the quality & cost of food served in the local restaurants. Stick with the Diner if you can get a table.
Wendy and Lewis Gray, Colorado Springs ~ If you are ever in the LaVeta, Colorado area, plan to stay at Lucy's RV park. This charming, shaded campground in the middle of a picturesque little town has been there for over fifty years. It is under new ownership and has recently been updated, but the experience maintains the ambiance of slipping back to a more gracious, leisurely time. The hospitality of the Zeller's is warm and genuine, the grounds are lovely, and the guests take time to chat about their day of fishing or hiking. It was a perfect way to relax and enjoy our vacation.
Mike and LaVerne Silor, Amarillo, Texas ~ Lucy's place is the nicest RV park in LaVeta, CO. and the best I've ever experienced in Colorado. What makes it the best is the owners. Motorcycle friendly! I highly recommend this site for the motorcycle tourist for tent sights. The park is close to shops and eateries. They make you feel welcome, relaxed and just made to feel at home. The park is very clean and well managed; this will be our home away from home from now on! Thank you very much Lucy's for making our stay, one that we will never forget!
